Slovenian innovation awards

Slovenian innovation award project is supported by:

Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia Awards for the best innovations at national level represent the highest national recognition of innovative achievements and thus promotes innovation in Slovenia and abroad. Every year the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia in cooperation with regional chambers, announces a competition for top innovations of Slovenian companies and other institutions and rewards only the best.

The history of the awards dates back to 1997, when the Zasavje region chamber decided to support innovative individuals and companies. On the 23rd of January they held the first award ceremony for the best innovations. The recognition of best innovations in the region initially expanded to other regions, and in 2002 reached the national level. The national event is now a selection of the best innovations among the awarded innovations at the regional level.

This year the national innovation awards will be awarded at the 18th Innovation Day, which will be held on September 15th, 2020 at the Congress centre at Brdo pri Kranju.

Slovenian organisations can find the region where their business is based in the map below. All the information and documents needed for submission of innovation can be found at the links, whereas a short movie with instructions and tips for efficient application of the innovation can be found at the bottom of the page.

Applications of innovations to a specific regional call are evaluated by members of the regional commissions. Members of the commissions evaluate innovation proposals on the basis of a description of the problem and its solution, the dimension of the innovation, a description of the state of the art in the field of innovation, the protection of the innovation, the innovation team, the user, the market and the financial and sustainable impacts of innovation. In accordance with the evaluation methodology, the commission awards various awards and propose at least three top-rated and golden innovations for a national level. The selection of the best innovations from all 13 regions is evaluated by a national commission that awards national innovation awards.
