With GAIA-X, representatives from business, science and politics on a European level envision and create a proposal for the next generation of a European data infrastructure: a secure, federated system that meets the highest standards of digital sovereignty while promoting innovation. Gaia-X results from a multitude of individual platforms that all follow a common standard – the Gaia-X standard. Behind the geopolitical challenges of the sovereign cloud, the very concrete objective is to stimulate the creation of sectoral data spaces in Europe, thus enabling companies to collaborate, exchange data and increase their productivity.

 The AISBL GAIA-X Association has been founded with the goal to develop the technical framework for the European sovereign data infrastructure and operate the Gaia-X Federation services. It works hand in hand with the National Gaia-X Hubs, which give users a voice at the national level, and the open-source software Community in which everyone is welcome to participate. HUBs main objectives are to develop ecosystems, to bundle national initiatives, and to provide a central point of contact to interested parties on their respective countries.

 Slovenia cannot just observe. The Slovenian Gaia-X Hub, coordinated by the ICT Association of Slovenia will kick-off on Wednesday, May 19 with inauguration e-meeting, organised by the AISBL GAIA-X, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology Republic of Slovenia and ICT Association of Slovenia from Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. The work of the national hub will be organized in different domains working groups. We are inviting representatives and key national stakeholders from various business domains, sector organizations, ICT industry and government representatives to join the national GAIA-X Hub and engage with business cases to be coordinated on the EU level.
