GOOD PRACTICES IN SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IN THE METAL AND ELECTRO INDUSTRY

 

 

You are cordially invited to attend the final skillME project conference »Good Practices in Skills Development in the Metal and Electro Industry«, which will be held on 4 October 2017 at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

The conference will focus on sharing good practices and innovative approaches in filling skill gaps, matching skills with labour market needs, developing new skills for new jobs and adapting national strategies in order to improve the quality and efficiency of vocational education and training and increase the competitiveness of workers.

The conference aims to bring together stakeholders and experts from regulatory bodies, industry and VET providers. The discussion will focus on the presentation of skillME project results in developing curricula and trainings for the most pressing identified skill gaps in the metal and electro industry (CAD/CAM, Machine Vision, Reading Technical Documentation, and Composite Materials), which have been piloted in the project participating countries of Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia and Latvia, and on identifying future measures necessary for the advancement of the metal and electro industry.

The first part of the conference will host speakers from national regulatory bodies and the metal and electro industry (employment services, national agencies for education, industry representatives) that will present good practices and future challenges in VET development on the national levels. The second part will be host both trainers and students that were involved in the skillME pilot training implementation, allowing them to share the challenges encountered and tackled in implementing the pilot trainings and their experience gained from the trainings.

 

The conference is intended for:

  • companies,
  • VET educators and trainers,
  • students and employees,
  • national agencies for education,
  • employers and employees representative,
  • regulatory bodies and policy developers,
  • other stakeholders.


Attendance at the conference is free of charge. The conference will be held in English.
